Walk For A Hero exists to help qualified veterans access life-changing mobility, technology, and opportunities that can restore independence, dignity, and possibility after catastrophic injury. We do it through the direct, visible effort of ordinary people walking real miles for a real hero. This is not a gala. This is not a gesture. This is a nation standing a warrior back up.

Origin
How It Started
Glenn Baker served in Desert Storm. He came home, built businesses and a music career, and never stopped carrying what he saw overseas.
That weight became a song. Then it became the documentary — Finish This Fight: Diary of a Pissed Off American Soldier. On that journey, Glenn met Joshua L. Holm.
Joshua had deployed to Iraq in 2003 and served through 2004, sustaining combat-related injuries that left him paralyzed and living with traumatic brain injury. But he hadn't stopped — he'd become an author, an ordained minister, a professional speaker. He'd founded Steel Hope Foundation, his own nonprofit dedicated to helping others “BE STEEL: Believe, Expand, Stand, Transform, Encourage, Enlighten, and Love,” with humanitarian work reaching as far as Nigeria. A member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America, he uses a TrackChair for off-road mobility today.
What Joshua didn't have was a Wandercraft exoskeleton — the FDA-cleared technology that could let him stand and walk again. The system told him someday, maybe.
Glenn decided: not someday — now.
"As a soldier, we made an oath to defend and protect the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. As a Warfighter, we also made an oath to our battle buddies to never leave anybody behind. We have left Warriors behind, and this mission is to fix that and get those Warriors back on their feet."

A Wandercraft exoskeleton is market ready — but the hardware alone is just hardware. A suit sitting in a closet doesn't stand anyone up.
Fully funding a Hero means more than delivering a device. It means covering the exoskeleton, five years of maintenance, travel for fitting and training, and the physical therapy needed to turn technology into meaningful mobility. Accounting for that full journey, the cost is $150,000 per Hero.
We don't call it done when the box arrives. Victory is a veteran standing on their own two feet for years—not a photo op on delivery day.

This is bigger than one exoskeleton and bigger than one veteran. Walk For A Hero is building the infrastructure — the fundraising engine, the public visibility, the community network — to make mobility restoration a standard this country actually meets, not an exception a handful of veterans get lucky enough to receive.

A single public figure lending their name can bring a campaign to a hundred thousand new people overnight. Every dollar and every share is the difference between a veteran waiting another decade and a veteran standing up this year.
