Joshua L. Holm deployed to Iraq in 2003 and served through 2004. During his deployment, he sustained combat-related injuries that left him paralyzed and living with traumatic brain injury.
But Joshua did not stop. He became an author, an ordained minister, and a professional speaker. He founded Steel Hope Foundation, his own nonprofit dedicated to helping others 'BE STEEL: Believe, Expand, Stand, Transform, Encourage, Enlighten, and Love' — with humanitarian work reaching as far as Nigeria. A member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America, he uses a TrackChair for off-road mobility today.
What Joshua didn't have was the Wandercraft exoskeleton — FDA-cleared technology that could let him stand and walk again. The system told him someday, maybe.
